Caring for
the environment
A lighter footprint,
by design
The desert climate is a resource. Thick ancient walls, abundant sun and careful water management let Las Pérgolas tread gently — almost 90% of the estate's energy is self-produced and self-consumed.
Renovation Works
We prioritised the recovery and reuse of original materials and supported local craftsmanship, choosing low-impact, water-based products and locally sourced materials wherever possible.
Heat & Power Production
≈90%Photovoltaic systems with accumulators and solar-thermal panels for hot water bring the estate close to energy self-sufficiency — almost 90% of our needs are self-produced and self-consumed, including the villa's electric vehicle.
Power Saving
−90%Thick ancient rock walls and Lanzarote's mild climate keep interiors pleasant without energy-intensive air conditioning. The entire lighting system is LED — up to 90% less consumption than standard technology.
Water Saving
Wastewater recovery, decantation and filtering combine with rainwater collection to irrigate the garden. An ancient aljibe still works today, and pool water is recycled for irrigation after salt reduction.
Consumption of Chemicals
The pool is disinfected by saline electrolysis instead of traditional chlorine — gentle on skin and eyes, while keeping the water beautifully clear.*
* Saline-electrolysis pool access is reserved for guests of the main villa Teguise.
